About Matt Mitchell

Raised in Austin, Matt Mitchell has been talking to our fair city for nearly 20 years. He's best known as a sports anchor and reporter for KVUE-TV, a position he held for more than a decade before moving into public school communications with both Austin ISD and Leander ISD. For the last four months, Matt has served as Media Public Information Officer for Austin Energy, the city's publicly-owned electrical utility, where he puts his media background to good use. Matt is a graduate of Texas A&M University in College Station and remains a sports fan, though he prefers talking about his awesome kids, Rosalie (6) and Lincoln (2). He and his wife Brie live in the Milwood area near the Domain and are blessed to call Austin home.
